Omni Royal Orleans has announced the appointment of Dennis Pearse as general manager. A 20-year veteran of the hotel industry who has spent much of his career in New Orleans, La., Pearse will oversee all operations at the historic French Quarter address, including but not limited to, sales and marketing, dining operations and assuring a Four Diamond-worthy hospitality experience for guests.
Born and raised in the Big Easy, Pearse is overjoyed to be in his hometown and head the historic Omni Royal Orleans. “I’ve always been impressed by the rich traditions of history and first-class hospitality that are woven into every aspect of the hotel,” he said. “This hotel is very dear to my heart, as it is to the city around it.”
Pearse comes to Omni Royal Orleans from Dimension Development Company, a Louisiana-based developer, where he was area general manager with direct oversight of Hilton New Orleans on St. Charles Avenue, the Homewood Suites by Hilton New Orleans on Poydras Street, and the Springhill Suites in Baton Rouge. During his eight years with Dimension, he was honored as General Manager of the Year.
Previously, Pearse was with Wyndham International Hotels and Resorts, starting at the Wyndham New Orleans at Canal Place as director of rooms operations and finishing two years later as hotel manager/director of food and beverage. He then became general manager of Wyndham Bourbon Orleans Hotel in the French Quarter. He also held positions at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in the French Quarter, including front office manager, food and beverage manager and assistant director of housekeeping.
Pearse attended Brother Martin High School and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans. He also earned a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La. Named 2014 Father of the Year by The American Diabetes Association and the Father’s Day Council of New Orleans, Pearse resides in New Orleans with his family.
