Hilton Campus, consisting of a Hilton Garden Inn and a Homewood Suites by Hilton, is pleased to announce the hiring of Kimmy Vandervelde as our Sales Manager and Terri Ann Miller as our Catering Sales Manager. Both managers are a major asset across all outlets within the property. Robert Rauch, president of R.A. Kimmy Vandervelde?– As a five-year hospitality professional and former representative of the San Diego Business Travel Association, Kimmy has a plethora of talents and sound skills that she has delivered to our team. Vandervelde began her education at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA and then transferred to Grossmont College to complete her General Education degree. Through in-depth experience among different branded hotels, Vandervelde has acquired several major accomplishments over the years. While working at Embassy Suites San Diego/La Jolla, she earned 115% of the first trimester catering budget for the first time in a four-year period. At Radisson Suites San Diego/Rancho Bernardo Vandervelde increased sales revenue by 60% year over year as well as exceeded a sports revenue goal by 300% year over year. Her past experience in combination with her education is proven that our sales team has acquired a true star.
Terri Ann Miller?– Upon completion of her degree from SDSU in Business Management, and a lengthy career as a Lending & Compliance Officer, Miller pursued her dreams in the event planning industry. Miller has earned certifications in Meeting & Event Planning as well as International Event and Wedding Planning. She joins our sales team from the prestigious Lodge at Torrey Pines where she worked in the Catering and Conferences Services Department assisting in event management. Before that, Miller worked as an Events Coordinator at Seven-Degrees in Laguna Beach, California. Miller takes great pride in her volunteer work for event planning organizations where she contributed over 1000 hours service. As a member of MPI and ISES, she has a strong ability to build client relationships, provide catering and banquet services and oversee the general operations for large group meetings and events. With great enthusiasm, Miller continues to pursue her dreams, proving that her drive and determination will be a strong asset to our sales efforts.
