Sea Island announced today the appointment of Ella Stimpson as Spa Director of the resort?s renowned Spa at Sea Island, which has received the?Forbes Travel Guide?Five-Star award for six consecutive years and was recently named the #4 Spa in the Continental U.S in?Travel + Leisure?s?2013 Readers? Choice Awards. Stimpson will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the prestigious 65,000 square-foot spa, including developing innovative treatments, services and classes and leading an expert staff of therapists, consultants and providers.
Stimpson comes to Sea Island from Las Vegas, where she most recently served as Executive Director of Spa Operations for Wynn and Encore Las Vegas, the first casino spa to be awarded a Forbes Five-Star rating.? During her time in Las Vegas, Stimpson also had the honor of serving as Chairman of the International Spa Association (ISPA) from 2011-2013, where she continues to serve on the Board of Directors.? She received the Las Vegas Spa Association Spa Director of the Year award in 2011.? Stimpson began her career in 2000 as a personal trainer at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, where she was quickly promoted to Spa Manager, followed by Spa Director in 2002.? During her nine-year tenure at The Broadmoor, Stimpson was involved in training and leadership development for the hotel management team, and under her leadership The Broadmoor Spa earned a Five-Star rating from?Forbes Travel Guide.
