Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association names Eric Terry President

The?Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association?has named?Eric Terry?president. Terry succeeds executive director?Barry Hawkins, who is retiring after seven years in the position.

?The tourism industry is Virginia?s second largest industry in the Commonwealth,? said?Owen Mathews, chairman of the board of the VHTA. ?Eric understands our industry and its economic impact, from job creation to quality of life. He understands and appreciates our unique political and hospitality environment in the state, and we are fortunate to have someone of his caliber heading up our association and creating additional member programs.?

Previously, Terry worked in sales, marketing and revenue management for more than 30 hotels and managed a team of over 200 managers for?Benchmark Hospitality?International?in The Woodlands, Texas.
