LONDON, ENGLAND, The launch of London’s highest rooftop bar, Gong at the Shangri-La, is well timed for the start of summer, giving those looking for a night out in the city a new destination to enjoy cocktails with a view. For those who want to enjoy London’s legendary nightlife there are plenty of hotels in London to choose from.

Gong, the latest addition to London’s rooftop drinking scene and officially London’s highest bar, recently opened on 19th May 2014 on the 52nd floor of The Shard, features a stunning champagne bar and cocktail bar, as well as, a dramatic infinity skypool, which will open for the summer.

Just for summer, two of London’s best known department stores, Selfridge’s and John Lewis, are hosting rooftop gardens with restaurants. Selfridge’s has pop-up ‘On the Roof with Q’, a BBQ restaurant from the team behind Des McDonald’s Q Grill in Camden. Meanwhile John Lewis celebrates its 150th anniversary with a Roof Garden designed by RHS Young Garden Designer of the Year 2013 Tony Woods on top of its flagship Oxford Street store, open from Saturday 3rd May until 31st August 2014, with refreshments by Joe and the Juice.

Back for summer, from 6th June until the end of September 2014, Frank’s Cafe is one of coolest bars in London, On the 6th floor of a disused multi-story car park in Peckham the bar also serves food and showcases the work of international artists. One-off events for 2014 include live performances by the Multi-Story Orchestra, and Titus, a collaboration with top Parkour practitioners featuring a community chorus of singers and beatboxers.

The Radio Rooftop Bar on the top of the ME London hotel is one of the most glamorous cocktail bars in the city with DJs spinning Baleric beats and stunning views of many London landmarks – the London Eye, Somerset House, The Shard, the South Bank and all along the Thames to the Houses of Parliament. The ME hotel is the first flagship hotel in which everything, from the shell of the building to the bathroom fittings, has been designed by Foster and Partners, and the rooftop Radio bar is its crowning glory.

When summer strikes the besuited City workers roll up their sleeves and head to Le Coq d’Argent, a fabulous French eaterie atop No. 1 Poultry. For summer 2014 the outdoor terraces have been transformed into a beautiful French Riviera-inspired oasis with white canopies resembling the sails of luxe yachts, seafood from the grill, champagne and cocktails. And from Thursday, 3rd July 2014, there are weekly morning yoga classes for women from 8am to 9am led by some of the best yoga teachers in the industry.
