Travel-related companie? stocks are down after the US State Department issued a global alert for Americans planning to travel following deadly militant attacks in France and Mali, Reuters reported.
Hilton Worldwide, Marriott International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide were down 1.5 percent to two percent.
Airlines? shares were also hit by the rise in oil prices due to escalating tensions in the Middle East after the downing of a Russian fighter jet near the Syrian-Turkish border.
United Continental Holdings, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines were down 3 percent to 4 percent.
Among travel website operators, Priceline was down 2.5 percent and Expedia down 2.2 percent.
For cruise operators Carnival Corp was down 2.5 percent and Royal Caribbean Cruises down 2.7 percent.
