Washington DC will welcome its first Pod Hotel, Pod DC, opening late 2016 in the Penn Quarter neighbourhood. Following the model of BD Hotels’ successful Pod Hotels in NYC – Pod 51 and Pod 39 – Pod DC will feature well-appointed guest rooms and vibrant communal spaces where guests can socialise and connect. The hotel is being developed by Modus Hotels, a Washington D.C. developer, owner and operator of lifestyle hotels.
Pod DC’s 245 guest rooms come in double, queen, and bunk bed configurations with features that include built-in storage, high-tech amenities and tiled bathrooms with barn doors, rain showerheads and eco-friendly bath products.
The hotel’s 12,000 square feet of public space will include a full service bar, restaurant, rooftop lounge and community work space.
