The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Va., has announced the appointment of Brett Schoenfield as managing director. An accomplished leader with more than 20 years of industry experience, the appointment brings Schoenfield back to Hot Springs after previously working at the resort for 12 years.
In his new role, Schoenfield oversees all operations of the iconic, 250 year-old resort. Schoenfield arrived at the resort from Omni Bedford Springs in Bedford, Pa., where he served as general manager for two years. During his time on-property, Schoenfield and his management team created unique and transformative experiences in its competitive market place, leading to an increase in overall guest satisfaction. Schoenfield joined Omni Hotels & Resorts after serving as a project manager for Sage Hospitality. He began his tenure with The Homestead Resort, pre-Omni, holding the position of room’s division manager in 1995, and continued to achieve promotions to hotel manager, general manager and executive vice-president, until his appointment as president in 2004. As president, he oversaw a team of 80 department managers, managed a $110 million renovation, and revitalized the resort’s marketing strategy to strengthen its position as a premier destination. A native of Michigan, Schoenfield earned a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.
