Mandarin Oriental announces management roles

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group appoints Eric Kee as general manager of Mandarin Oriental, Sanya in China, and Jan-Hendrik Meidinger as general manager of The Excelsior in Hong Kong.
Kee, most recently GM of the Pan Pacific, Xiamen, has 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He first joined Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in 1996 as senior assistant front office manager at Mandarin Oriental, Macau. He then worked with several hotel groups in China, Malaysia, Macau and Japan before returning to the group in 2011 as hotel manager for The Excelsior, Hong Kong.
Meidinger, also with 25 years’ hospitality experience, was most recently GM of the Park Hyatt Saigon. He joined the Hyatt Group as assistant front office manager at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in 1999, and rose to executive assistant manager, rooms. He was appointed GM of the Hyatt Regency Guam in 2010.
In other moves, Anthony Costa is named GM of the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. He began his career with the group as resident manager of the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong in January 2007. He was GM of The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong for five years before moving to the helm of Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo.
Paul Jones succeeds Costa as GM of the Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo. With more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he joined Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in 2005 as hotel manager of the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.
In 2008, he was appointed GM of the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore before leaving to oversee the launch of the Mandarin Oriental, Taipei in 2012.

Michael Ziemer moves from The Excelsior, Hong Kong to succeed Jones as GM of the Mandarin Oriental, Taipei. With more than 30 years’ hospitality experience, Ziemer joined the group in 2003 as resident manager of the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong.
He was appointed GM of the Mandarin Oriental, Munich in September 2004, returning to Asia in 2007 to oversee the rebranding of Mandarin Oriental, Macau to the Grand Lapa, Macau.
He transferred to The Excelsior, Hong Kong as GM in February 2010.
