It is a great success to win one of the most challenging talent competitions: Vanessa Froemel, 23, achieved a sensational first place at the annual apprentice contest for prospective hotel traders, organised by the “German selection of luxury hotels”. Lucas Eichholz (Fairmont Hotel Four Seasons Hamburg) was placed second ahead of Laetitia Zipperlin (Excelsior Hotel Ernst Cologne), who was placed third in the competition. The event was organised at the Grand Hotel Heiligendamm on the East Coast of the Baltic Sea.
The selection of the leading Grand Hotels in Germany, which was founded almost 30 years ago, promotes the most talented young professionals with a broad training and exchange program. This includes an annual apprentice contest for cooks and hotel traders, which proves the level of knowledge, including the most important cornerstones of the relevant expertise. The participants also need to impress with lots of empathy during their presentations. Only the best junior entertainment talents can join the competition, while the scores of the different participants are usually reasonably close.
Vanessa Froemel is one of these exceptional talents. She applied for example with a self-written song about her preference for the food & beverages department. This song has got what it takes to become a vital hit. With her eagerness to learn and work, she now wants to prove herself in the world’s best bars – following the dream of managing an exquisite hotel bar one day.
