Nick McCabe succeeds Neil Moffatt as new CEO of Hakkasan group

Las Vegas – 18 April 2017 –
Global hospitality company Hakkasan Group appointed Nick McCabe as CEO, effective immediately. McCabe formerly served as President and COO of Hakkasan Group, and succeeds Neil Moffitt, who resigned from his role today.

Nick McCabeIn his new role, McCabe will navigate the company along its aggressive growth trajectory, pursue further business development opportunities and oversee the company’s entire global portfolio of dining and nightlife brands. He will also be leading Hakkasan Group through the proposed merger with hospitality giant sbe, creating the most dynamic hospitality, residential, restaurant and entertainment company in the industry.

Having joined the company in 2013 following its acquisition of Angel Management Group, McCabe brings more than 15 years of management and venue development experience to Hakkasan Group. Since becoming part of the group, he has overseen the global expansion of the company’s portfolio, which in 2017 is scheduled to grow from 60 to 72 venues across 4 continents with forthcoming openings in Waikiki, Jakarta, Bali, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.

Prior to his role with Hakkasan Group, McCabe began his career as an entrepreneur in Miami where he launched innovative nightlife and lifestyle website, CoolJunkie.com. The portal quickly became the nightlife authority in Miami, and he soon took it national with satellite sites in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, among other cities in the United States. McCabe became a partner and Chief Creative Officer of Track Entertainment in 2005 after the company acquired of his vision, and oversaw an array of large-scale and high profile projects for well-known brands, including Pepsi, Bacardi, T-Mobile, Aquafina and Sierra Mist, while also assisting in the development of various entertainment websites.

Following his role with Track, McCabe created a series of extremely popular ‘B-Live’ music festivals for Bacardi in 2006. With the momentum of Bacardi B-Live fueling his ambition, he formed his own music marketing company, The Big Idea in 2007. Through this new business, he continued to work on Bacardi B-Live in conjunction with Neil Moffitt’s Las Vegas-based entertainment and nightlife company Angel Management Group (AMG) before deciding to join the AMG team on a full-time basis.

While at AMG, McCabe served as Vice President of Strategy, overseeing all business development and company strategy, and playing a leading role in securing projects including various business acquisitions and large-scale openings. Following its acquisition of AMG in 2013 McCabe became President and COO of Hakkasan Group, and alongside Neil Moffitt guided the company through the launch of the world-class Hakkasan and Omnia nightclubs in Las Vegas, the acquisitions of Enlightened Hospitality Group, H.Wood Group and The Light Group, and the continued expansion of the company’s brand portfolio across the globe.
