Pan Pacific Hotels Group is names E.J. MacEwan as general manager for PARKROYAL Saigon and Paul Flett as general manager for Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka, Bangladesh.
MacEwan joined the group as GM of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka from 1997 to 1999, a post which he returned to in 2009 after terms as GM of Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur and Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta. He had experience spanning rooms, F&B and catering in the United States and the Middle East before he joined the group.
Despite the challenging environment, MacEwan was instrumental in establishing the reputation of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka as one of the most popular five-star hotels in Bangladesh, with particular success at cementing it as the hotel of choice for international events and diplomatic missions.
His new role will see him leading the 186-room PARKROYAL Saigon, which is recognised by Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism as one of the five “Top 4-Star Hotels” in the city.
Flett was appointed hotel manager at PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney, where he oversaw the engineering, front office, restaurants, bars and events, and housekeeping teams. In a career spanning more than 20 years in operations and F&B, he had worked at Cypress Lake Resort in Hunter Valley, as well as hotel brands such as Radisson, InterContinental Hotels Group and Rydges.
His promotion to GM sees him taking charge of the 277-room Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka.
