Frankfurt/Main, Germany – 21 November 2017 –
One year after its foundation, the great image initiative “Fair Job Hotels” with its 85 partner hotels in Germany has caused a stir. Next year, a cinema commercial with a prominent brand ambassador will be launched; the first scenes have already been recorded. The claim “Do your thing” is intended to sum up the uniqueness of the hotel career. Until now, they have been slogans such as “Love it or leave it”.
Co-founder Alexander Aisenbrey (general manager of Hotel Oeschberghof in Donaueschingen) is leading the way in defending the honour of the hotel industry. At the beginning of December, the top hotelier will have to answer questions from the Federal Ministry of Economics about the shortage of skilled workers in the hospitality industry. At the hearing of the German chamber of commerce, it concerns among other things effective measures to the image increase – Fair job hotels will become at the latest then also on the confused federal-political parquet presentable. Interesting: An initiative that is not initiated by leading German hoteliers associations Dehoga and IHA. In future, the legitimacy of industry associations will also play a role in deciding on the crisis topic of recruiting.
The charter of the “Fair Job Hotels” should long ago be recognized as generally binding in the hospitality industry. In the face of shameful revelations about non-compliance with minimum wages and numerous sub-tariffs, the central issue of fair pay is extremely controversial. In addition,”Fair Job Hotels” promotes the exchange of trainees among themselves and offers advantageous employee rates; something like this was previously reserved for elitist associations such as Luxury Hotels of the World or the selection of German luxury hotels.
The membership fee of 3,000 euros per year will be reinvested in image measures, promises Aisenbrey. The budget finances trade fair stands at important trade fairs Internorga (Hamburg), ITB (Berlin) as well as trade fairs and conferences.
