Megève, France – 15 December 2017 –
Four Seasons opened its first resort in the Alps, the 55-key Four Seasons Hotel Megève in France. General Manager is François Arrighi.
The only hotel located directly on the slopes of Mont d’Arbois, just five minutes from the charming medieval town of Megève, Four Seasons Hotel Megève is the newest addition to one of Europe’s most important mountain resorts. With direct access to more than 400 kilometres (277 miles) of skiing, plus the region’s only in-house Ski Valet and Ski Concierge services, Four Seasons is also inviting skiers to experience more remote runs with the new Helicopter Ski Safaris. Back near the Hotel, myriad other winter recreational pursuits are virtually at one’s doorstep, from snowboarding to sleigh rides, ice fall climbing and ice sports including hockey, skating and curling.
Four Seasons Hotel Megève is now home to one of the region’s most coveted gastronomic destinations, the two Michelin star Le 1920. Here, guests are treated to the creations of Chef Julien Gatillon, who also oversees all dining outlets at the Hotel as well as several of the village’s best restaurants. Must try: Chef’s famous mille feuille de foie gras de canard et truffe noire façon opéra is an exquisite creation that combines two of France’s most famous pastry styles – the mille feuille and gâteau opéra – in a savoury journey for the palate that includes delicate layers of duck foie gras and black truffles.
Additional on-site dining experiences include Kaito for Japanese Pan-Asian fusion cuisine outdoors or at tables or the sushi bar indoors; the club-like Bar Edmond for après-ski wine, cocktails and bites indoors and out; and the Lobby Lounge, an ideal central meeting point serving light refreshments all day. Four Seasons Hotel Megève also offers a Cigar Room for fine cigars and spirits and an impressive 10,000 bottle Wine Cellar for private dinners and tastings.
When not enjoying the mountain air outdoors, guests can relax inside at the 900 square metre (9,700 square foot) Spa, the largest in the region, with six spa treatment rooms including a VIP couple’s suite sauna and steam, salon and fitness centre. Spa Director Aurianne Hurelle particularly recommends the Sodashi Asian-European Fusion Body Massage after a strenuous day on the slopes, or the rejuvenating Swiss Perfection facial treatments. The Spa also offers osteopathy and physiotherapy sessions on request, and a tai chi program focused on martial arts and health.
Surrounded by large outdoor terraces, Four Seasons Hotel Megève boasts a unique indoor-outdoor swimming pool, complete with massage jets and underwater music, and an array of lounge chairs, recliners and a fireplace at the poolside.
