What hotels should learn from low cost carriers – Interview with visionary hotel developer Joseph Fischer

Berlin, Germany – 8 March 2017 –
To offer only the accomodation and to charge for every extra service – That is what hotel operators should learn from low cost carrier, hotel developer Jospeh Fischer advises. “Hotels are not adopting fast enough what’s changing in the aviation,” he stated in an interview with Hospitality Leaders.

“All main carriers are lloking for a new concept basic economy. My idea is simple: A seat without services converted into hotel space,” Fischer described. Booked by hotels IBE and OTA this rooms will be offered without breakfast, turndown and room services or cleaning services every day.

Guests have to pay for each service they consume, i.e. WiFi, parking. “So you can reduce the price of the room,” Fischer predicted.
