Curio by Hilton opens first Middle East property
Curio – A Collection by Hilton announced the opening of AlRayyan Hotel Doha, Curio Collection by Hilton, the brand’s first property in the Middle East to join the global portfolio of more than 30 distinctive hotels. Located in the upscale neighbourhood of Al Rayyan, and directly connected to the Mall of Qatar, the AlRayyan Hotel Doha, Curio Collection by Hilton offers a choice of 201 elegant guest rooms and suites featuring timeless decor along with floor-to-ceiling windows, oversized bathrooms and walk-in rain showers. The stylish and spacious Presidential Suite boasts two bedrooms, large living and dining areas, walk-in closet and a full-sized hammam in the marble bathroom. The chic, one-of-a-kind hotel is just steps from Al-Rayyan Sports Club, and a short drive from Qatar National Convention Centre, Sheikh Faisal Museum and Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club.
Hilton Garden Inn debuts in Guizhou Province, Southwestern China
Hilton announced the opening of Hilton Garden Inn Guiyang Yunyan, owned by Guizhou Hantang Jiahua Hotel Management Co., Ltd and managed by Hilton. The 251-room Hilton Garden Inn Guiyang Yunyan is the first Hilton Garden Inn in Guizhou Province. Hilton Garden Inn Guiyang Yunyan combines contemporary design with upscale amenities. French windows provide great views of the city and Nanming River, while generously sized desks, ergonomic chairs, complimentary high-speed WiFi access, and secure printing from the guest rooms help optimize productivity. All guest rooms also have 42-inch HDTVs, Peter Thomas Roth bathroom amenities, as well as KingKoil mattresses, hypoallergenic pillows, and quality bedlinens. For the convenience of guests, the self-service laundry room and fitness center are both open around the clock.
Marriott Int. debuts second Aloft hotel in Taipei
Marriott announced the opening of design-led Aloft Taipei Beitou Hotel, the second Aloft in Taipei, which brings a modern twist to the century-old hot spring destination of Beitou. Featuring vibrant design and innovative technology, the 292-room hotel is just steps from a multitude of hot springs, and a quick 5-minute stroll to two Metro stations, enabling easy access to Taipei’s downtown area and attractions. The striking interior décor of Aloft Taipei Beitou is inspired by Aloft’s passion for music and technology, and blending in with Beitou’s natural landscape. Both guestrooms and public areas showcase the creations of local artists, integrating elements indigenous to Beitou and customized specifically for Aloft Taipei Beitou. The modern, loft-inspired rooms and suites are equipped with SPG Keyless, the industry’s first truly mobile check-in system where guests can utilize their mobile phones as room keys. JW Marriott debuts stunning beach resort on Marco Island
Marriott Int. has debuted JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort. Following an extensive $320 million renovation facilitated by ownership group Mass Mutual, the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa has converted to a JW Marriott luxury property, ushering in a new era for the illustrious resort. The 726-room JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort offers engaging and enriching on-property experiences that can be artfully tailored to each guest. The resort is poised to become one of the region’s most coveted culinary destinations, led by Executive Chef Eric Vasta, who most recently held the post at the celebrated 5-star JW Marriott Marquis Dubai. Culinary programming will include private sommelier-led wine tastings and Chef’s Table experiences at signature restaurant Ario, helmed by Chef de Cuisine Gerald Sombright. The culinary offerings extend beachside with fish-grilling classes, rum tastings and private dinners along the shoreline. The property will also feature a 94-room, adults-only tower, scheduled to open in the fall of 2017 –offering a rooftop pool, restaurant with an award-winning chef at the helm, and 12,000 square foot, state-of-the-art indoor entertainment center.
Courtyard by Marriott opens in Edinburgh
Marriott Int. announced the upcoming addition of Courtyard Edinburgh to its portfolio in Scotland. Opened on 28 December, the city centre hotel is set within a historic Georgian terrace located in the heart of Edinburgh’s new shopping and entertainment hub at the east end of Princes Street. The flagship property has been part of a £30m restoration project to combine both heritage and contemporary style. With a total of 240 rooms, Courtyard Edinburgh extends through three adjoining Georgian townhouses and into a new building connected by glassed walkways to the rear, offering a variety of views of Calton Hill, Edinburgh’s New Town and across the Firth of Forth.
