INDIANAPOLIS ? Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman recognized outstanding contributions to the tourism industry during a ceremony Wednesday morning at the Indiana Statehouse. Seventeen people received a 2009 Lt. Governor?s Hoosier Hospitality Award for their outstanding service in tourism-related jobs at hotels, restaurants and attractions. More than 257,000 jobs in Indiana are supported by the $10 billion in visitor spending each year in Indiana.
?These award recipients are just a few of the many people who make positive contributions to Indiana?s tourism industry every day,? said Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman. ?It?s important to thank them for their hard word in making guests feel welcome during their stay in Indiana.?
