Hong Kong, 27 May 2009 ? Subsequent to the recent announcement of Kurt Wachtveitl?s retirement after 41 years as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is pleased to confirm that Mr Wachtveitl will remain with the Group in the capacity of Special Adviser.
Throughout his career, Kurt Wachtveitl has been a pioneer in the hotel industry and has played a significant role in the global recognition of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. In his new role as Special Adviser, the Group will continue to benefit from his extensive skills, industry knowledge and experience.
His new responsibilities will include acting as Brand Ambassador at Mandarin Oriental events worldwide, the recruitment and development of talented employees, and assisting in the development of new hotel projects, restaurant concepts and spa operations.
