Qantas customers to book flights on the Qantas Mobile Site

Qantas today launched a new functionality to its mobile site enabling Qantas customers to book domestic and international flights via qantas.com on their mobile phone.

Chief Executive Officer Qantas Domestic Mr Lyell Strambi said providing Qantas customers with the ability to search and book their flights on their smart phone means greater convenience for Qantas customers.

?The Qantas Mobile site now makes it easier for our customers to book their flights while on the move,? said Mr Strambi.

?We have listened to our customers who want greater convenience in the booking process. They want flexibility to book flights away from their home or office, or on their way to the airport.?

?Our customers can now book and pay for flights and check-in, all in the palm of their hand,? added Mr Strambi.

Initially launched in 2008, the Qantas Mobile site provides customers with the ability to check in for their domestic flight, receive SMS flight updates and check the status of their flight. Customers are also provided with access to worldwide Qantas Club lounge locations, contact numbers for Qantas offices worldwide and the up to date timetables for Qantas, QantasLink, Jetstar and codeshare flights.

Frequent Flyers can access Qantas Mobile with their Frequent Flyer number, last name and PIN to view all bookings recorded against their Frequent Flyer membership, as well as their points balance and date of last activity. Non-Frequent Flyers can log in with their booking reference and last name to view their booking including passenger details, flight details, check-in information and baggage allowances.

The search and booking function is available to customers departing Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The Qantas mobile site is accessed by typing qantas.com into a web-enabled smart phone.
