Meli? Hotels International and its partner company Wave House last night hosted a grand opening event for the inauguration of the new Sol Wave House, located on the beach in Magaluf (Mallorca), and the Wave House leisure area, the first European project for the American brand which combines music, bars, restaurants, boutiques and outdoor parties with spectacular wave simulation facilities, bringing the famous lifestyle of the beaches in California to the Mediterranean.
The event was attended by a thousand people, including Gabriel Escarrer, the Vice Chairman and CEO of Meli? Hotels International, its project partner, Phil Burton, and the creator of the Wave House concept, the surfer Tom Lochtefeld. The event was also attended by numerous public authorities and other familiar faces as well as residents and visitors to the area, all of whom had the opportunity to witness the first “perfect wave” accompanied by a great display of professional surfing.
Wave House Mallorca, which occupies the ground floor of the Sol Wave House, recreates the challenges of the ocean through a unique artificial wave technology already present on four continents and now available in Mallorca. The Wave House area has two revolutionary wave machines: the FlowBarrel ? and double FlowRider ?.
Both the hotel and the new Wave House leisure complex are part of the major “Calvi? Beach Resort” tourism project which aims to renovate tourism in Magaluf and create a new image and quality level for the destination.
The Sol Wave House and Wave House Mallorca provide the finest accommodation and leisure facilities in Magaluf and will be the focus for fun on the island this summer, during which both residents and visitors will no doubt be attracted to the legacy the American firm and its daytime beach parties have already created in San Diego, Santiago de Chile, Durban and Singapore.
