Hard Rock International Announces Development Plans In Aruba

Orlando, Fla. – Hard Rock International – with locations from Bali and San Diego to Singapore and Macau – is excited to announce plans for a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Aruba. The government of Aruba selected Southwest Horeca Development, through an RFP process, to build the 310-room, beachfront Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, marking the initial step toward the development process. Upon opening, Hard Rock would manage the day-to-day operations of the property. While plans are in advanced stages, finalized contracts and financing details are still pending.

With our strategy of expansion into the Caribbean, including Punta Cana and Central America with Mexico and Panama, Hard Rock International is excited to pursue a collaboration with Southwest Horeca Development in Aruba,” said Michael Shindler, executive vice president of Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos. “With the continued support and cooperation of the Government of Aruba, we look forward to bringing a fresh, vibrant hotel and casino to this prime tourism destination.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino would be located near the capital Oranjestad, close to “old city” attractions, and enhance the beach landscape of Aruba, which recently ranked as having the No. 2 beach in the world by TripAdvisor. Featuring eco-friendly, sustainable energy construction elements, the hotel will include multiple restaurants, a casino and an entertainment experience exclusive to Hard Rock.

The world-renowned Hard Rock brand reaches a wide demographic, appealing to everyone from baby boomers to young millenials, which will bring a fresh approach to the island,” said Mr. Milko Baiz, director of Southwest Horeca Development N.V. “We felt the VIBE of Hard Rock Hotels as soon as we walked in, and admired their ability to highlight the spirit of rock-and-roll in unexpected ways.

Internationally recognized as a world-class entertainment and lifestyle brand, Hard Rock properties offer stylish and contemporary design, unparalleled service and the thread that unites them all – music. Hard Rock’s current Hotel and Casino portfolio is located in the world’s most enviable resort destinations, as well as urban gateway cities. Hard Rock Hotels cater to the evolving and distinctive needs of today’s cosmopolitan, modern travelers, who seek a reprieve from traditional, predictable properties, whether for business or leisure travel.
