Giant Olympic Rings unveiled in Box Hill

The 15-metre wide aluminium rings have been installed on the side of Box Hill and are set to provide a spectacular backdrop to the Olympic road race, as well as Surrey?s London 2012 celebrations.

Seb Coe, London 2012 Chairman, said: ?The Olympic Rings are an iconic symbol, inspiring athletes and uniting people around the world. To athletes they represent the culmination of thousands of hours of training and reaching the highest level in sport.

?These Rings will excite and inspire local people and visitors to Box Hill.?

The rings on Box Hill are the latest to be installed at iconic locations across the United Kingdom, with further rings visible at landmarks such as Tower Bridge in London and The Mound in Edinburgh.
