Rogge Visits Korea House

The stand gives an overview of the progress and objectives of the PyeongChang 2018 project, which is just setting out on its Olympic journey as London?s draws to a close.

Speaking at the event, Rogge observed how London 2012 would influence PyeongChang?s Games, ?This is a special time, not only for Great Britain and London but of course for Korea and PyeongChang, the future host of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. You are witnessing first hand what it takes to stage the greatest sporting event on earth, and the 45 members of PyeongChang 2018 who are in London as observers will learn a great deal to share with your compatriots upon returning home.?

Rogge also spoke of the historical situation that Korea finds itself in, ?Let us not forget that, with PyeongChang 2018, Korea will become one of only a handful of countries to have hosted both a Summer and Winter edition of the Games. This is a great honour ? and with it, you will make your mark on Olympic history.?

PyeongChang will host the Olympic Winter Games in February 2018.
