(CLEVELAND, September 23, 2010) ? Michael Yeh, the general manager of the Canadas Best Value Inn/River View Hotel in Whitehorse, has been named a winner of the Golden Host Award for August by the Yukon Tourism Education Council, Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Industry Association of the Yukon.
Yeh was one of 41 Yukoners who were nominated for the August Golden Host Award, which recognizes front-line tourism workers for extraordinary service to visitors in the Yukon. Recent guest Mary Campbell from Sudbury, Ontario nominated him for the honor.
?Michael drove us to our destination and also made arrangements for another guest to take us to attractions he knew they were going to. He was on top of all the information we needed and gave us good advice.?
According to Yeh, he was just doing his job.
?They were guests from out of town who didn’t have a car, so I just asked if they needed a ride to where they were going. This is one of the little things that we do to make guests happy. I certainly didn’t expect to win anything for doing this. It?s just part of our guest service that everyone in the industry should be doing.?
