Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group names Scott Meyer, senior vice president, Midscale Hotel Brands, Americas

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world?s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, today announced the appointment of Scott Meyer as senior vice president, Midscale Hotel Brands, Americas, effective immediately. Meyer, who has been with the company since 1987, was previously vice president, Midscale Hotel Brands and served as interim operational leader for Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM and Park Inn by Radisson. He will report directly to Thorsten Kirschke, president, Americas, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

?Scott took over the operational leadership of Carlson Rezidor?s midscale hotel brands earlier this year and has proven to be a dynamic leader and the consummate brand champion,? said Kirschke. ?He is the ideal person to move our midscale brands closer to our Ambition 2015 goals, roll out the next generation of Country Inns & Suites and Park Inn by Radisson hotels, and oversee the expansion of our midscale brands in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.?

Meyer has been with Carlson Rezidor?s midscale brands since their infancy. Both he and Country Inns & Suites By Carlson are celebrating their 25th anniversaries this year. As the midscale brand guardian, Scott oversees managed hotels, franchise field support, sales, marketing, guest satisfaction, brand standards and product and service quality.

?During his quarter-century of service, Scott has been a strong brand advocate, trusted business partner and franchisee supporter,? added Kirschke. ?His guidance has continued to drive our midscale and upper midscale brands forward, positioning them solidly against the competition.?

Meyer will evaluate prospective properties to ensure a hotel is a good fit for Carlson Rezidor and that it aligns with the midscale brand hotels? strategy for the Americas. He will oversee the process for bringing new hotels on-line, and will spearhead the development and implementation of operations and quality standards for existing hotels and new hotel openings. Focusing on a consistent guest experience, he will work with franchisees to ensure implementation of the strategy and priorities for the business, and he will ensure that corporate, franchisee and employee satisfaction goals are met.

Country Inns & Suites first opened in Burnsville, Minn., in September 1987 with Meyer as the property?s general manager. Over the past 25 years, the Country Inns & Suites portfolio has grown with more than 480 properties worldwide and growing.
