The selection of entertaining events in the brewery continues even after the end of Pilsner Fest. Both Pilsen breweries are still offering special programs for visitors such as anniversary tours of both breweries, rides on horse-pulled carts, an exhibition of artefacts from the depository of Beer-Brewing Museum, and the telling of legends in Pilsen Historic Undergrounds. To mark the 170th anniversary, the brewery will open its historic, protected monument ? the Water Tower.
The program of anniversary tours includes a unique opportunity to visit normally closed sections of both breweries, Pilsen Urquell and Gambrinus. This part of the program will be called ?A tour around the brewery on a horse-pulled delivery cart.? These tours take place only on Saturdays, and will run from September 8 until November 3, 2012. In the Prazdroj brewery, you will have the chance to learn about the ancient ways of beer production and the life of brewery?s employees in the 19th century from the impersonated V?clav Mirwald, one of the founders of the brewery. The Gambrinus tour will offer a chance to receive a certificate of a quality controller directly from the hands of Plze??s brew-master every day until October 7, 2012.
The Beer Brewing Museum will not stand aside. They will offer guided exhibitions that will include normally hidden treasures from the museum?s depository. They will also brew beer according to original recipes from the 16th century. In the mysterious Pilsen underground labyrinth, they will tell town legends by torchlight.
The 170th anniversary of Pilsner Urquell lager is coming. To mark the special occasion, the brewery will offer a unique opportunity: from October 5 to October 7, they will open to the public its protected historic monument, the Water Tower, built in 1907. With its style resembling a Holland lighthouse, it is a dominant feature of the Pilsen brewery. In its cupola, there is a special binder with documentation containing production procedure instructions for the making of Pilsner Urquell lager, and laboratory analytics of taste characteristics from 1897 and 2008 confirming its unchanged taste.
