Whisky Bar at StarWorld Macau is named as the ?Best Whisky Bar in Hong Kong and Macau? in the ?Wine by the Glass Awards 2012?, part of the Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong 2012 award series.

The award presentation ceremony took place during the 10^th anniversary gala dinner of Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This annual exhibition is regarded as the leading hospitality and catering exhibition in Asia, bringing together the top suppliers from the wine, hospitality, food and beverage industries. The ?Wine by the glass awards? pays tribute to hotel, chain and independent restaurants which are dedicated to providing their customers with the best wine by the glass selection to complement their gourmet cuisine.

This year, Whisky Bar of StarWorld Macau has been nominated by an expert judging panel to receive the ?Best Whisky Bar in Hong Kong and Macau? award for its commitment in offering exclusive star-rated services and wines & spirits selection, including a collection of more than 100 whiskies, an array of cigars and a mix of live entertainments staged at the gorgeously decorated bar every evening.

This recognition is the 10^th award garnered by StarWorld Macau in 2012. Housing more than 100 premium whiskies

Whisky Bar features a wide range of premium quality whiskies from Ireland, France, United States and Japan, including its special collection, the rare Macallan 1946 Inspiration Scotch. It also provides a comprehensive collection of fine wines from both the Old and New Worlds including France, Portugal, Australia, United States and Chile. The signature cocktails and the 3-litre ?Tower Cocktail? are other Whisky Bar special creations.

Quality cigar selection

The dedicated cigar area of the Whisky Bar features more than 50 types of high quality cigars from Cuba and Dominican Republic. Professional and bespoke cigar and whisky pairing suggestions can be provided on request. This section of the Whisky Bar has humidifiers installed to ensure the best conditions for the pleasures of smoking.

In order to furnish customers with exclusive and personalized services, Whisky Bar also seeks out special whiskies and cigars on behalf of the most discerning wine and cigar enthusiasts, even if not listed on the menu, to maintain a highly specialized star-rated service for its valued guests.

To celebrate the winning of the ?Best Whisky Bar in Hong Kong and Macau?, Whisky Bar is delighted to feature an up-and-coming high quality single malt whisky brand, Matisse, from Scotland. Within the promotion period, Whisky Bar is offering the Matisse Old Whisky and its 12-year-old Whisky at MOP 680 and MOP 880 per bottle respectively, (excluding 10% service charge and 5% tax), to invite more whisky lovers to try their unique flavors.

In order to promote the art of whisky appreciation, the award-winning mixologist of Whisky Bar has created recipes to blend four themed whisky cocktails (MOP 88 per glass), which will be available every Thursday night from now until 31 October.

Matisse Old is a premium Scotch whisky, for which the core malt comes from Speyside, United Kingdom. It has mild, elegant fruits, honey and rich smoky notes. This blend specially caters to the taste buds of Asian customers, offering less intense flavors when compared to traditional Scotch whisky. The Matisse 12-year-old whisky is distilled in the Highlands and matured for 12 years in European oak casks. Matisse 12-year-old whisky is a blend of seven finest top class single malts to create a symphony of flavors of rich plum and fruity citrus aroma, with a creamy and nutty palate. This Matisse 12YO Whisky won the IWSC Gold medal in 2005 and ISC Gold medal in 2006.
