Singapore, 18 April 2013 – PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport has been named “Best Airport Hotel, Australia/Pacific” for the second year running at the 2013 World Airport Awards.
Now in its 14th year, the World Airport Awards recognises the leading airports and airport hotels globally. The Awards are managed by the air transport rating organisation, Skytrax Research of London, UK. The survey has operated since 1999 and the 2013 World’s Best Airport Hotel Awards are based on nominations by 1.35 million airport hotel guests worldwide, drawn from 108 nationalities. It evaluates 16 key performance indicators of the hotel guest experience, including comfort and cleanliness of rooms, standard of food and beverage outlets and hotel staff service quality. Another important item was the location and ease of transfer between the terminal and hotel.
Providing a direct connection to the airport via a sheltered skybridge, PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport is proud to celebrate its second year of operations with the accolade since the hotel’s rebranding to a PARKROYAL in April 2011. Always ready to serve as “Your Trusted Local Companion”, the hotel and its PARKROYAL associates understand that whenever a guest checks into the hotel before or after their trip, the experience of their stay affects the tone of their entire journey.
Winning the Best Airport Hotel in Australia/Pacific in the 2013 World Airport Awards is testament to the hotel’s commitment in delivering the PARKROYAL’s brand promise: providing a modern, comfortable and supportive environment to all guests.
In Australia, Pan Pacific Hotels Group owns and operates two other PARKROYAL hotels – PARKROYAL Parramatta and PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney. The latter had recently undergone an AUD20 million-dollar refurbishment.
PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney now presents a fresh, vibrant interior palette of tones and textures that reflect its urban yet distinctly Australian locale. These design elements are sustained throughout the hotel’s expansive new lobby, guest rooms and PARKROYAL Club Lounge, which now offers a range of exclusive services catering specifically to the needs of corporate travellers.
“We could not be more delighted and encouraged by PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport’s win,” said Craig Bond, Area General Manager for Oceania, Pan Pacific Hotels Group.
“Together with the refurbishment of PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney, these developments underscore our commitment and success in delivering upon the distinctive PARKROYAL hospitality. Our latest achievement reaffirms the growing recognition the brand enjoys among our guests in Australia and the Pacific region.”
