Princess Cruises has announced plans to send a ship around the world out of Los Angeles.

The 111-day voyage on the Pacific Princess will kick off Jan. 23, 2015 and include stops in 25 countries on six continents.

The trip is a milestone at the 48-year-old line, which never has sent a ship on a complete circumnavigation of the globe from a U.S. port. While Princess has offered lengthy “world cruises” from the U.S. in the past, the sailings only have been partial circumnavigations that typically have begun in Ft. Lauderdale and ended in Europe.

The 680-passenger Pacific Princess’ route on the around-the-world voyage will take it westward from Los Angeles to Hawaii, New Zealand and Australia. From there, the vessel will make several stops across Asia, India and the Middle East before heading to Europe through the Suez Canal. The final leg of the trip includes visits to Bermuda, the Caribbean and a passage through the Panama Canal to the west coast of Mexico.

The Pacific Princess will return to Los Angeles on May 15, 2015.

The sailing will include overnight calls in Sydney, Hong Kong, Dubai and Barcelona. More than two dozen other port calls include Honolulu, Hawaii; Apia, Western Samoa; Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietman; Bangkok, Thailand; Singapore; Muscat, Oman; Aqaba, Jordan; Portofino, Italy; and Seville, Spain.
