SWISS adds more choice and more "Swissness" to its inflight entertainment

Swiss International Air Lines is expanding the range of choices available in the inflight entertainment programme on its long-haul services in time for the summer holiday season. As well as providing a wider selection of movies, the carrier is also raising the ?Swissness? of its inflight entertainment product, which will now feature a new ?Made in Switzerland? platform devoted solely to Swiss music and films.

SWISS will be expanding its inflight entertainment programme from 1 July, adding more content and variety for its customers on long-haul flights. In time for the start of the summer holiday season, the initial emphasis will be on providing a wider range of movies for young and young-at-heart travellers with new titles that include current Hollywood blockbusters The Croods and Epic along with such classics as Shrek, Madagascar and Wallace & Gromit. To facilitate selection, SWISS will also be adding a new and easy-to-negotiate ?Kids? page to the on-board entertainment section of its inflight magazine.

Looking further ahead, the present selection of 90 films and TV programmes that are offered aboard SWISS?s long-haul aircraft will be gradually increased to 130 between now and October. The additions here will include complete TV series such as David Attenborough?s Galapagos. SWISS already shows a promotional video on board entitled ?Let SWISS Entertain You? which draws passengers? attention to the new product offer and should help them make their choices.

SWISS will also be bringing more ?Swissness? to its inflight entertainment from July onwards. The new ?Made in Switzerland? platform will offer travellers a wide range of Swiss-related features, from new adventures of the cult children?s character Kasperli to audio books and specially-produced audio channels focusing on talented Swiss artists. In a next step, as well as reputed and less well-known Swiss musicians the new platform will also offer films about Switzerland and movies by Swiss filmmakers. The choice here, too, will be steadily expanded over the coming months: September, for instance, will bring a new channel devoted exclusively to Romansch-language artists.
