Eduardo Bartolomeo Appointed as CEO for Brazil Hospitality Group

SAO PAULO, July 30, 2013?- BHG SA – Brazil Hospitality Group [BM&FBovespa ? Novo Mercado: BHGR3 and OTC: BZHGY], the third largest hotel chain in the country, announced today Eduardo Bartolomeo as its new CEO. The 49-year-old executive has accumulated over the years a vast experience in managing global companies and was chosen to lead BHG towards its new growth cycle from now on.

Pieter Vader, BHG’s CEO for the last five years, will be leaving the company to devote himself to personal projects, therefore ending a very important cycle for BHG. He was responsible, among other things, to establish BHG as one of Brazil’s leading hotel chains, with national presence, a robust product portfolio and professional management, continuously investing in the development of new projects.

With Eduardo Bartolomeo, BHG aims to continue its strategy of consolidating the hotel sector in Brazil and making its management even more professional. The new CEO will be in charge of accelerating new acquisitions as well as developing greenfield projects in order to make BHG the largest hotel company in the country in the next few years.

Eduardo Bartolomeo graduated in Metallurgical Engineering at Universidade Federal Fluminense (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), with an MBA at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). The executive began his career at Companhia Siderurgica Paulista (COSIPA) in 1988. Prior to joining BHG, Bartolomeo worked at Companhia de Bebidas das Americas (AmBev) from 1994 to 2003. Between 2007 and 2011, he was part of the executive board of Vale S.A., ahead of Logistics, Sustainability, Project Management and Integrated Operations. Bartolomeo has just returned to Brazil after a season of specialization at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in the United States. Eduardo Bartolomeo has extensive experience in leading large organizations in complex and competitive industries, and a recognized track record of delivering results and achieving goals.
