San Francisco, California (September 16, 2013)?- Hyatt Hotels announces the promotion of Michael Jokovich to Area Vice President Northern California. After nearly six years as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, Jokovich has returned to the mainland to provide oversight operations at six Hyatt properties in the Bay Area: Grand Hyatt San Francisco, the property where he will be based and solely responsible for, Hyatt Regency San Francisco, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, Hyatt Regency Sacramento, Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, and Andaz Napa. Jokovich will continue to report to Jordan Meisner, Senior Vice President Field Operations. The Area Vice President position is a newly introduced role for Hyatt Hotels. In addition to managing their own hotel, Area Vice Presidents have oversight over a group of hotels providing supervisory and counsel to the properties in their area.

Jokovich began his career with Hyatt in 1984, working his way up from front desk, housekeeping and rooms operations to ultimately General Manager at various Hyatt hotels, including Columbus, Waikiki and Maui. During his tenure at Hyatt Regency Maui, Jokovich served as a mentor and supporter for the 700-plus employees at the resort, as well as for the greater community of Maui. A seasoned Hyatt veteran, Jokovich brings a legacy of outstanding hospitality and community involvement to the City by the Bay, having served as Chairman of the Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association, Chairman of the Board for Maui Hotel Lodging Association, President of the Ka’anapali Beach Resort Association and a member of the Board of Directors for the Hawaii Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, and as a well-known local figure on the island.
In his free time, Jokovich enjoys spending time with his wife Debbie, his son Justin, daughter-in-law Dana and son Nicholas.
