Available air seats on nonstop flights to Hawaii from the U.S. mainland will likely decline 4.3% through the month of November, according to a new report from the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA).
In its latest Air Seat Capacity Outlook, the HTA projected seats on nonstop flights to Hawaii originating in U.S. gateways west of the Rockies will drop 3.9% year over year during the three-month period ending Nov. 30.
Available seats on flights traveling to the Aloha State from cities east of the Rockies will sink nearly 7%.
Significant year-over-year seat reductions to Hawaii are forecast from Washington and from New York?s Kennedy, where declines of 82.8% and 22%, respectively, are expected.
Total available seats to the Hawaiian Islands are expected to increase 1.2% through November, however, bolstered by a 13.2% boost in international lift that will likely include an 11.1% jump from Japan and a 48.6% surge from Oceania.
