IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) is pleased to announce the appointment of Frederic Brohez as General Manager of the 140-room InterContinental Sydney Double Bay, set to open in early 2014 following a full refurbishment.
Frederic?s extensive knowledge of and experience with IHG and the InterContinental brand will be invaluable when launching and managing what is anticipated to be a new Sydney icon.
Belgium-born Frederic Brohez joined IHG in 1999, and brings 14 years? experience in the hotel and hospitality industries, holding executive roles at several of the group?s flagship hotels across the Middle East and Europe.
He brings operational expertise from his current position as Hotel Manager in the award winning, boutique style InterContinental Le Vendome Beirut in Lebanon, where he excelled in managing the extensive renovation plan of the property and re-organisation of the hotel?s structure.
Frederic, who will relocate to Australia from Beirut in January with his wife and three young children, said of his new role, ?I am thrilled to join the team at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay ? it?s an honour to be a part of what we know will be an exciting development for both Sydneysiders, and visitors to this city.

This will be Frederic?s seventh InterContinental posting, following a highly successful career development path across IHG working at InterContinental hotels in Cannes, Paris, Barcelona and Jordan, before his latest position in Lebanon.

InterContinental Sydney Double Bay will be the fifth InterContinental hotel in Australia, and will join the group of 169 InterContinental Hotels & Resorts around the world.
