Accor is adding a second Berlin hotel to its luxury Sofitel brand in 2014.
From February 1, Hotel Concorde Berlin will operate under its new name, Sofitel Berlin Kurfurstendamm.
Sofitel already has three properties in Germany ? Sofitel Berlin Gendarmenmarkt, Sofitel Hamburg Alter Wall and Sofitel Munich Bayerpost. It is scheduled to open its fifth German hotel,?Sofitel Frankfurt am Alte Ope, in 2015.
An extended period of renovation at the Sofitel Berlin Kurfurstendamm will begin in February and is due to finish in the third quarter of 2014.
The 311-room hotel, which includes 44 suites, will be equipped with the brand’s MyBeds, while the property will also feature 16 conference rooms and a large ballroom.
The move follows on from several Concorde hotels being rebranded during 2013, including the Concorde Opera Paris which will rebrand as the Hilton Paris Opera.
