Jeffrey Fugit named Director of Operations at Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel

Seasoned hospitality industry professional Jeffrey Fugit has been named director of Operations of the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel as the 495-room Starwood property prepares for a $40 million rejuvenation to include all guestrooms, meeting and public space, as well as the restaurant and lounge.

In his new post, Fugit will build team morale, develop a culture of exceptional guest service and drive financial results for the high-rise hotel, which is located in the heart of the city?s financial, sports and entertainment epicenter. The expansive project, which includes the hotel and the adjacent office tower and shopping center anchored by a flagship Macy?s, will be renamed the Bloc. Upon completion, it will be the largest single asset mixed-use property in the City of Los Angeles.

Fugit comes to the Sheraton after holding senior posts with other Starwood properties, including The Westin Orlando Universal Boulevard, where he served as director of Rooms, and The Westin Pasadena, where he served as director of Operations after being promoted from front office manager.

His other career highlights include serving in management posts with the Durango Mountain Resort in Durango, Colorado, The Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico, and with several properties in Colorado Springs, Colorado, including The Wyndham Hotel Colorado Springs, The Broadmoor Hotel and The Antler?s Adams Mark Hotel.

While at the Wyndham, Fugit was named manager of the year and of the quarter, and manager of the quarter at The Westin properties and at the Hyatt. ?He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Radford University, where he minored in Psychology and Sociology.
