Love Art at The Peninsula
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it?s a bus swaying on the 7th floor Sun Terrace of The Peninsula Hong Kong.
This amazing art installation re-commissioned by The Peninsula Hong Kong, “Hang On A Minute Lads… I?ve Got A Great Idea” is an architectural intervention inspired by the classic 1969 British heist movie, The Italian Job and the work of renowned British artist, Richard Wilson RA.
According to Wilson, in daringly balancing off the edge of The Peninsula’s 7th floor Sun Terrace, his replica of the Harrington Legionnaire bus from the movie?s closing scene is ?a spectacle teetering on the edge of being and not being, and between stability and collapse.”
With this pioneering sculpture, The Grande Dame of Hong Kong, for Love Art at The Peninsula 2015, is proud and honoured to announce a 3-year partnership with Britain?s most celebrated artist-led institution, the Royal Academy of Arts.
