Great Hotels of the World gives updates on a number of its member properties.

The Sandymount Hotel in Dublin is undergoing a 1 million euro refurbishment this winter on 60 bedrooms, to be ready this spring. Opened in 1955 by the Loughran family, the hotel was originally called the MountHerbert. It occupies a number of Victorian houses built in 1866 that were once home to Dublin?s aristocracy. Sandymount Hotel is a member of Great Hotels Classic Collection.

The Old Swan & Minster Mill, in the heart of the Cotswolds, has been nominated second best hotel in the UK & Ireland in the recent Cond? Nast Johansens Awards of Excellence 2015. Peter de Savary bought the historical property in 2010 along with an adjacent 18th century mill and restored both properties into a country-style luxury property. Old Swan and Minster Mill is a member of members of Great Hotels of the World Luxury Collection.

Vidago Palace Hotel was awarded Best Golf Hotel in Portugal at the first World Golf Awards, which recognised its revamped 18-hole golf course, one of the leading courses in Europe that has hosted several important events. VidagoPalace was also named the Portuguese winner at the Luxury Spa Hotel category of the World Luxury Hotel Awards for the quality of its treatment programmes. It was also recently declared the best hotel in the world in which to get married by the Prestigious Star Awards 2014. VidagoPalace is a member of Great Hotels Luxury Collection.
