Dublin?s Sandymount Hotel is undergoing a detailed refurbishment this winter on 60 bedrooms, with one million euros earmarked for the upgrade, which will be launched to celebrate the hotel?s 60th birthday.
Opened in 1955 by the Loughran family, the hotel was originally called the Mount Herbert. It occupies a number of Victorian houses that were originally built in 1866 and were once home to Dublin?s aristocracy.
Refurbishment began in November 2014 and is expected to be completed by the beginning of February 2015.
The bedrooms will be completely refitted with new bathrooms and a refreshed contemporary d?cor. Sandymount Hotel is a member of Great Hotels Classic Collection.
