International Hotel School (IHS), Africa’s leading resort school, lately hosted and facilitated a General Manager’s Workshop in the Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga, South Africa , that was attended by the nation’s top-notch resort GMs.
The workshop, which happened from 24 to 28 August 2015, functioned as a practical training session for the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA(registered company)) Certificate.
The internationally recognised CHA(registered company) is among the very prestigious certificates accessible to a hotel manager or cordiality executive. Based on Chief Executive Officer of International Hotel School, Mike Lambert, this professional qualification is an important validation of the supervisor’s advanced understanding of the hospitality industry on an international and local level. “The certificate is an honour given to accommodation professionals whose leadership and managerial skills are model – and IHS is proud to join local business leaders and to equip them with the tools to not only meet the assessment requirements, yet to surpass them,” he said.
Delegates also had constant opportunities to discuss and share knowledge from their personal learnings to align ideas on the state of the sector and collective challenges, and to supplement the class theory training they confront.
General Manager in the Protea Hotel Edward, Werner Geere, was impressed with the worth the workshop added to his exam trainings. He remarked: “I take home with me real and useable insights and an abundance of info that can direct my company towards more affluent reasons. The individual acknowledgement I am going to receive for completing the Certified Hotel Administrator Programme with IHS, is priceless and I am assured that it’s going to create private impetus that will ensure my future profession and company successes.”
“I discovered the demo on ‘Leadership and Diversity’ especially important,” included Ashwin Jose, Hotel Manager in the Sun International Maslow Hotel. “As a leader, you need to do constant introspection to make sure your teams remain inspired, and adopting diversity remains an integral facet of the involvement in South Africa. I discovered the discussions quite practical and inspirational.”
