Starwood launches the Westin Soma Bay Golf Resort & Spa in Egypt, expanding its Westin brand in the country.
Located at the highest point of the Soma Bay peninsula in Egypt?s Red Sea Riviera, the resort features 166 guestrooms and suites overlooking the Red Sea and desert landscape.
Westin Hotels & Resorts global brand leader Brian Povinelli said: ?As a coveted resort destination for global travellers, who are increasingly seeking wellness when they travel for leisure, the Red Sea Riviera is the perfect location to introduce the Westin brand in Egypt.?
The hotel also houses the 80,000-square-foot Cascades Spa & Thalasso, which features a saltwater lap pool, 65 treatment rooms providing massages and beauty treatments, and the latest technology for aesthetic treatments and hydrotherapy.
The Westin Soma Bay Golf Resort & Spa is the 11th hotel in the country. In 2016, Starwood plans to reopen the renovated Sheraton Cairo Hotel & Casino and open Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa, Katameya Dunes. It also intends to debut the St. Regis brand with the launch of St. Regis Cairo.
