InterContinental Hotels Group announces the development of a new InterContinental Hotels & Resorts property in San Diego.
Set to open in 2018, the 400-room hotel will be part of a multi-phase mixed-use development, known as BRIC, on the former site of Lane Field in the North Embarcadero area of downtown San Diego.
There are two InterContinental properties currently under development in the US, in downtown Los Angeles and on the southwest waterfront in Washington, DC.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand, which claims to be twice the size of any competing luxury hotel brand globally, with more than 180 hotels open worldwide and more than 50 in the global development pipeline.
