Wyndham Vacation Ownership (WVO), the world’s largest vacation ownership company and a member of the Wyndham Worldwide family of companies, was recently recognized by Orlando Business Journal as one of the “Healthiest Employers in Central Florida” for the company’s commitment to wellness in the workplace. With nine Central Florida timeshare resorts, a corporate headquarters office and more than 3,000 associates across the region, Wyndham’s “Be Well Services” are dedicated to programs that focus on nutrition, exercise, lifestyle management, physical and emotional wellness, financial health and the quality of the environment in which associates work and live.
“At WVO, we believe that health and wellness lay the foundation for both professional and personal productivity, achievement and fulfillment,” said Mike Hug, chief financial officer at WVO and executive sponsor of the wellness program. “We take a holistic approach through a comprehensive offering of benefits and special initiatives and resources, with many services available at low or no additional cost to our associates. We want to encourage our associates to embrace healthy lifestyles and are committed to supporting them every step of the way.”
To help associates lead healthier lifestyles while balancing family, work and other responsibilities, WVO offers several resources such as weight management, stress reduction and work/life balance education programs. The on-site Be Well Health Services facility at the company’s Orlando headquarters provides a board certified nurse practitioner for associates to utilize completely free of charge. In addition to providing convenient care, there is no cost to associates to access the clinic that provides care for minor illnesses, annual wellness screenings and ongoing health monitoring services. Be Well Services also facilitates quarterly blood drives with the mobile Blood Bank, in-house breast cancer screenings, and skin cancer screenings.
Additional “Be Well” perks include a no cost on-site fitness center, health fairs and biometric screenings and flu vaccines. An Employee Assistance Program (EAP), administered by Cigna Behavioral Health, is available via a toll-free phone number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Topics covered include health and wellness, legal consultation, and financial services and referrals. Some topics are available as webinars, allowing associates to access and participate in sessions as their schedules allow.
