Devon’s Cary Arms hotel, owned by Lana de Savary, has appointed a new general manager to take the boutique inn through its next stage of development. Thomas Hughes will replace Felicia Crosby at the property, which has 10 suites, six beach huts, two beach suites and three restored fisherman’s cottages in Babbacombe Bay. Crosby is leaving Cary Arms – rated five silver stars in the AA’s inn category – after three years to travel.
Hughes previously managed the Wheatsheaf Inn in Northleach in the Cotswolds, where he was responsible for the smooth running and profitability of the business and was involved in new menu creation, recruitment and training programmes, marketing, social media campaigns, creating annual budgets and looking at new business propositions.
