The Rezidor Hotel Group starts its most extensive investment program in the Nordics – allocating €110m to the renovation and refurbishment of several flagships.
Key projects include the city of Stavanger in Norway where Rezidor has already completed the total makeover of the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel and will now start a full renovation of the Radisson Blu Atlantic Hotel with a group investment of 165MNOK.
“Rezidor is the leading international hotel operator in the Nordics, and Norway is one of our core home markets. We are committed to drive our performance to the optimum level and to constantly add value for our guests, employees, owners and shareholders. Through these significant investments, we are re-affirming our pole position and will offer the best upper-upscale hotel experience in the area,” said Wolfgang M. Neumann, president and CEO of Rezidor.
The transformation of the 364-rooms Radisson Blu Atlantic Hotel will take place between September 2016 and Q4 2017 and comprise all guestrooms, public areas, restaurant & bars, meeting and event spaces as well as mechanical, engineering and plumbing works.
As from 5th September 2016 and for the entire renovation period, the Radisson Blu Atlantic Hotel will be closed. As from September 2017, all employees will be entitled to return to their jobs. “Given the current market situation in Stavanger, it is crucial that we do our best to offer the best possible opportunity to the team,” said cluster general manager Brian Gleeson.
“We are glad that, in close collaboration with the local employee representatives, we have found a solution that enables us to avoid terminations and to keep our skilled and dedicated staff within the company.”
