Under the leadership of a new general manager, Courtyard Miami at Dolphin Mall looks to stay fluent in comfort and convenience for visitors of the Sunshine State. Shannon Ballard, who previously served a two-year stint as assistant general manager at an Embassy Suites hotel in Tampa, FL, will head south to take on her new role. From 2006 to 2010, Ballard started her career as a front desk agent while studying hospitality and tourism management at Purdue University. Following graduation in the summer of 2010, she served as a front desk supervisor at Courtyard Fort Wayne Downtown at Grand Wayne Convention Center and quickly moved up to the manager position at the hotel’s on-site dining establishment, Champions Restaurant & Sports Bar. After nearly seven years in Indiana, Ballard transferred to the Lone Star State, where she worked as front desk manager at Courtyard & Residence Inn Austin Downtown/Convention Center.
While Ballard is thrilled about her new job, she said she is also elated about the hotel’s unbeatable location.
