Chicago – 20 December 2016
Sometimes it`s a question of wording: At the poor-service low budget hotel named The Hollander in Chicago, young guests are requested to socialize via Instagram first. To work alone in the lobby with a laptop isn`t the philosophy for a `Social Stay`at the hostel in downtown Chicago.
The latest poshtel of Grupo Habitat tries to pimp up a boring youth hostel with a marketing gag for `shared rooms`(3-, 4- or 6-bed sleeping Halls each which a shower). In the late 1980s, group trips of young people ended up with strange parties and `pillow talk`with the girls in these bunk beds.
Today, digitalized target groups should better concect and date each other while posting smartphone selfies and crude videos via Instagram and other social tools.
The clou is to name this lower level of wooden Ikea-styled rooms a quite bit more posh. Ready to socialize?
