Hammamet, Tunisia – 1 June 2017 –
Deutsche Hospitality is continuing to pursue its robust drive for international growth by signing a further agreement for Tunisia. From November 2017, guests will be able to sample the delights of the fabulous beach location occupied by the Steigenberger Hotel Palace Marhaba on the Gulf of Hammamet. Having only entered the Tunisian market for the first time in April by opening two hotels (Steigenberger and Jaz) in Sousse further to the South, Deutsche Hospitality is now expanding its presence in the country to three hotels in the same year.
The Steigenberger Hotel Palace Marhaba will offer 371 rooms and suites as well as six restaurants and bars serving up a range of different cuisines. Facilities further include six indoor and outdoor pools, a Thalassotherapy Centre with a wide choice of beauty treatments, massage parlours, a hairdressing salon, a hammam and a sauna. There will also be six conference rooms.
Set on the fertile peninsula of Cap Bon, the Gulf of Hammamet is a beach resort surrounded by green hills and lemon groves. Such a picturesque backdrop has earned the area a reputation of being the “St. Tropez of Tunisia”, and tourists from all over the world flock to sample its beautiful sandy beaches.
“Our declared company goal is to seek international growth at attractive locations,” said Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Deutsche Hospitality. “Our presence in Hammamet enables us to add yet another popular resort location to our portfolio and establishes our ‘Steigenberger’ brand even more powerfully within the holiday segment. After a few months on the Tunisian market, our representation has expanded to three hotels. This is a highly pleasing development which is a ringing endorsement of our strategy of expansion.”
Deutsche Hospitality will operate the hotel under a management agreement. The owner is the Tunisia-based Marhaba Company.
