Enjoying an extensive breakfast is not only the perfect start to the day for many Germans. This is the result of a current HRS analysis. The analysis examined hotel bookings with or without the first meal of the day in an international comparison.
Normally, guests have breakfast in German hotels for 12.80 euros, in all of Europe the cost is 11.90 euros and global 10.50 euros. Looking at the prices in individual cities, another trend is evident: in this comparison, Amsterdam is the most expensive city in Europe. The first meal a day at a hotel prices an average of 17.40 euros, Singapore is the world’s leading restaurant with 18.30 euros and Munich is ahead of the pack in Germany with 13.60 euros.
In five-star hotels, travellers eat their breakfast at significantly different prices: in Germany, hotel guests pay 27.30 euros normally, in neighbouring European countries 22.60 euros and 17.50 euros worldwide. In contrast, the price difference in four-star hotels is considerably smaller: guests in German and European resorts eat the morning meal for an average of 13.70 euros and the price worldwide is even lower at 13.00 euros.
