The art of pink – Peninsula Hong Kong support global breast cancer awareness campaign

Hong Kong – 26 September 2017 –
The Peninsula Hong Kong is again thinking pink for a purpose this October, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Marking its eighth anniversary in 2017, the annual Peninsula in Pink campaign to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer charities is undergoing a creative makeover to become “The Art of Pink.”

Pink is the preferred colour at The Peninsula Hotels each October, and to support The Art of Pink initiative, The Peninsula Hong Kong’s fountain in the forecourt and the hotel’s iconic façade will be artfully illuminated in pink each evening from 1 to 31 October 2017. The hotel’s flower arrangements will adopt vibrant hues of pink, and guests can enjoy pink-infused gourmet dining and spa experiences, with part of the proceeds donated to The Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry (“The Registry”).

To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an exclusive Peninsula in Pink pin has been designed for each Peninsula staff member to wear. These will also be available for sale at the Concierge desk in The Lobby. Each pink ribbon pin is priced at HK$ 40 and all donations will be made to The Registry, to fund genetic testing, counselling and public education campaigns.

The Peninsula in Pink Classic Afternoon Tea, priced at HK$ 368 for one and HK$ 658 for two, will be served daily in The Lobby from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm from 1 October to 31 October 2017. In addition, The Peninsula en Rose Afternoon Tea, priced at HK$ 598 for one and HK$ 1,118 for two which includes a glass of rosé Champagne, will also be available. For every Pink Afternoon Tea sold, a donation of HK$ 40 will be made to The Registry.

Available this year in all outlets, guests can honour this meaningful initiative by drinking pink, with the “Fuschia Fleur” cocktail and the non-alcoholic Bellini, “Blushing Peony” mocktail, which are priced at HK$ 148 and HK$ 108, respectively, and 50% of all proceeds will be made to The Registry.

Furthermore, a pink dessert, Raspberry Lamington with Rose Sorbet, Pomegranate Jelly and Salad, will be available this year at Felix in the early dining menu from 2 October to 31 October 2017, and is priced at HK$ 468 for one person. 50% of all proceeds will be made to The Registry.

In addition, The Peninsula Spa will be offering “Pretty Pink Glow”, a two-hour spa experience that begins with a Pink Grapefruit Infused Cocktail, followed by a 90-minute Haute Couture Instant Radiance Facial and a 30-minute Destress Scalp, Neck and Shoulder Massage with Pink Hair and Scalp Mud. The Pretty Pink Glow experience is priced at HK$ 3,500 per guest and HK$ 80 from each treatment sold will be donated to The Registry.
